
Pharmaceutical Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned API Sourcing Associate to oversee procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) on behalf of our client. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure high-quality, cost-effective materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (quality assurance, regulatory, and supply chain) to ensure smooth operations.
- Track market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing options to maintain a reliable supply base.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers to foster trust and partnership.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Understanding of global regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, etc.) for API sourcing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
