Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the maintenance function of an automotive sheet metal manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and leadership skills to ensure maximum machine uptime, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Maintenance Planning & Execution

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for all production and utility equipment.
  • Ensuring smooth functioning of various machines and systems, including fabrication, welding, paint shop, utilities, and assembly lines.
  • Minimizing downtime and ensuring availability of critical spares.

Team Leadership

The chosen candidate will lead, guide, and supervise a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians across multiple shifts. This includes conducting skill upgradation programs for maintenance staff on new technologies like robotics, PLC, automation.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Control

The selected individual will apply TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis (RCA) for reducing repetitive breakdowns. They will also drive automation upgrades and energy-saving initiatives to optimize maintenance costs while improving machine reliability.

Safety & Compliance

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with statutory requirements for pressure vessels, boilers, electrical systems, and environment. They will maintain documentation for ISO, IATF, and customer audits and enforce strict adherence to plant safety practices.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 15-20 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in the auto/auto-component or sheet metal industry, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on exposure to robotic welding, paint shops, CNC fabrication equipment, and utilities.
