Position Summary

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll design mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power plants, perform engineering analysis, develop P&IDs, and prepare equipment specifications. You'll ensure compliance with industry standards, lead design teams, and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Design: Mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power generation facilities
• Perform: Engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection
• Develop: P&IDs for LNG and power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, fuel gas, hydrogen, and utilities
• Prepare: Sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, heat recovery steam generators, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers, and pumps
• Prepare: Construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.
• Check: Design deliverables by industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards
• Lead: Teams of engineers, designers, and drafters
• Mentor: Technical mentoring and/or oversight of junior staff

Requirements

• Bachelors/master's in mechanical engineering or related field

You'll have experience using MS Office, MicroStation, Auto CAD, 3D design software, Caesar II, AutoPipe, and Thermoflow. You'll also have project management experience and be able to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders.

Experience

• 7-12 years of relevant experience in Power Generation, LNG, and Industrial facilities
• Professional Engineering registration in at least one US State preferred

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Project Management experience a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.
• Technical understanding of clean energy business processes.
• Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
