About this role:

We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Cost Manager. As a key member of our construction consultancy, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, sustainability, and value across our projects.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
• Support in analyzing project costs, budgets, and schedules to ensure alignment with client requirements.
• Conduct on-site measurements and inspections to verify progress and compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with senior quantity surveyors to evaluate contractor claims, variations, and valuations.
• Evaluate the scope of work by reviewing floor plans, sections, and elevations, and identify elements to be measured.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-1 year of work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to utilize MEASUREGEOM command to calculate lengths, areas, and volumes.

Technical Skills:

1. Quantity Take-off using AutoCAD:

• Verify that drawing layers, scales, and dimensions are appropriately defined.
• Understand the scope of work by reviewing floor plans, sections, and elevations.
• Identify elements to be measured, such as walls, slabs, columns, and beams.
• Turn on/off relevant layers to isolate specific components for measurement.
• Utilize MEASUREGEOM command to calculate lengths, areas, and volumes.
• For irregular shapes, use Boundary (BO) or Polyline (PL) tools to define and measure areas.
