Job Description

As a Lead Database Administrator, you will be responsible for providing high-level support for all DTCC environments, including Development, QA, client test, and production. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our databases and systems.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions, as well as troubleshoot complex issues. Your knowledge of Oracle database administration will be essential in supporting other database platforms, including Aurora PostgreSQL and MS SQL-Server.

Your skills will include software installation and patching, database creation and configuration, and reviewing production performance reports for variances from normal operation. You will also be responsible for maintaining database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters and implementing new releases. Additionally, you will participate in root cause analysis for database issues and provide 2nd and 3rd level support for DTCC critical production environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need strong Oracle knowledge of 19c, 21c, and 22c, as well as a minimum of 7+ years of proven relevant experience. Your skills should include MSSQL Server, Aurora Postgres database, Python, and Angular, with working knowledge of Oracles Golden gate Replication technology, O/S and Disk Management, and SQL. Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and OEM Grid Control/Cloud Control, as well as scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and others, will also be beneficial. You must be able to work with a high degree of latitude while adhering to established process and procedures, demonstrating good understanding of how databases fit into systems and how application changes will influence database performance.

Primary skills required include L2 and L3 Engineer or above experience in managing large-scale Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL environments, strong performance tuning and optimization skills in Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL databases, and experience in database patching, database upgrade, OEM, oracle table partition, RMAN backup, Memory settings, and database performance tuning. Strong knowledge of operating systems (Unix/Linux), Shell scripting, Perl/Python scripting, and experience in managing High availability/High scalability DB clusters are also necessary. You must be able to handle tasks and projects independently with minimum guidance and directions, possess excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, and follow best practices on Change management/Incident management/Problem management. Finally, you must be a good team player, have worked with diverse global teams, and be willing to work on emerging technologies.

Secondary skills preferred include AWS cloud technologies, ITIL processes, and understanding interlaying technologies like Networking, Applications, and its impact on Database.
