Senior Software Development Engineer

This is a key role within our R&D team, where you will work on the design and development of our network security product. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality code that meets strict standards.

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in software development, particularly in C/C++ and/or Python. The ideal candidate will have experience in networking systems and a solid understanding of embedded systems, networking, and network security.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop the appliance stack for our network security product.
  2. Develop an understanding of the product functionality, use cases, and architecture by interacting with team members and reading written code.
  3. Study and decipher documentation needed to accomplish tasks, including standards, RFCs, protocol specifications, network topologies, and networking fundamentals.
  4. Debug issues reported by internal QA teams or in production by customers and suggest solutions.
  5. Document design and test plans as part of development activities.
  6. Communicate with other team members, including the QA team, and collaborate as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must Have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Instrumentation.
    • 3-6 years of software development or testing experience in Networking Systems.
    • Ability to write and comprehend written code in C/C++ and/or Python programs.
    • Passion for building a career in embedded systems, networking, and network security.
    • Good academic record.
    • Good reading and comprehension skills to read technical literature.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Good debugging skills and ability to inspect packet captures.
    • Understanding of Linux boot loaders, grub, kernel compilation, and networking stack internals.
    • Knowledge of one or more protocols used in Network Security systems.
    • Working knowledge of deployment of Virtual Machines.
