Data Engineering Role

We are seeking a skilled data engineer to assume responsibility for designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes on Databricks.

  • Design Data Pipelines: Create efficient and scalable data pipelines using Databricks to ensure high-quality and reliable data processing.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analysts to gather requirements and deliver actionable data insights.
  • Optimize Data Workflows: Optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability by leveraging expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL, and Scala.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Proven subject matter expertise in Databricks (including Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, and MLflow).
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP a plus).
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

Create complex data models using Databricks to support data-driven decision making. Develop data pipelines that process large datasets efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective data solutions. Ensure high-quality data is delivered through robust testing and validation processes.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Bonus Points:

  • Hold a master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Have a track record of successful open-source contributions.
  • Be proficient in at least one programming language other than Python.
