Job Title: Exterior Trims Design Engineer
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Design Engineer for Exterior Trims in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing exterior trims, including bumper systems, grills, DRL covers, and exterior panels.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop exterior trims that meet aesthetic, functional, and ergonomic requirements.
- Utilize CATIA V5 or V6 CAD software to create 3D models and 2D drawings of soft trim components.
- Maintain knowledge of automotive exterior regulatory requirements for passenger vehicles.
- Independently create master sections, concepts, and detailing.
- Develop proficiency in GD&T, Gap Plan, and generate technical documentation.
- Prepare SORs and support supplier onboarding.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to automotive interiors and soft trim components/materials.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing.
- Draw creations considering 3-2-1 principle, car positioning, customer methodology, and GD&T.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate soft trim designs into vehicle platforms.
- Research new materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- B.E., in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology/university)
- Post Diploma/Diploma in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering (college of technology/university)
