Sr Data Engineer


About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Sr Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the migration of data warehousing and ETL processes from legacy systems to Snowflake and dbt.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement highly efficient, scalable, and reliable ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake and dbt. Additionally, they will optimize existing SQL and Informatica workflows for performance and cost-efficiency on Snowflake.

This role also involves establishing data quality, governance, and security standards in the new platform. Collaboration with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing best practices for data modeling, CI/CD, and version control using Git. They will also mentor junior engineers and improve data engineering practice.

Troubleshooting complex data integration and warehouse performance issues is a critical aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate data warehousing and ETL processes to Snowflake and dbt
  • Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake and dbt
  • Optimize existing SQL and Informatica workflows
  • Establish data quality, governance, and security standards
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders
  • Develop best practices for data modeling, CI/CD, and version control
  • Mentor junior engineers and improve data engineering practice
  • Troubleshoot complex data integration and warehouse performance issues

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field
  • Deep expertise in migrating data platforms to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with Teradata and Informatica
  • Expert-level proficiency in Snowflake data warehousing and dbt
  • Exceptional proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
  • Experience with cloud services and setting up data ingestion
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
