We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at George-Bernard. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Structural Analysis and Design: Conduct structural analysis and design for commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with Australian codes and standards.
  • Lead Seismic Design: Lead and document seismic design of new and existing structures, including peer reviews and checks.
  • BIM Coordination: Develop, coordinate, and review 2D/3D models and drawings (Revit, CAD) for concept, detailed design, and construction documentation.
  • Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering on existing and proposed designs to improve constructability, reduce cost and programme risk, and maintain performance.
  • Interface Management: Coordinate closely with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical services to resolve interfaces, penetrations, loads, and maintenance/access requirements.
Requirements:
  • Civil/Structural Engineering Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years' structural engineering experience in the Australian commercial sector preferred.
  • Seismic Analysis Expertise: Demonstrated seismic analysis and design expertise.
  • BIM Proficiency: Hands-on use of Revit and 2D/3D drafting/BIM systems for structural documentation.

Technical Competencies

  • Structural Design: Structural design (steel, concrete, secondary/supporting systems).
  • Seismic Design: Seismic design and detailing.
  • BIM Coordination: BIM coordination and clash resolution in Revit; model federation and standards compliance.
