Academic Counsellor

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Counsellor to join our team. As an Academic Counsellor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' academic and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide feedback and recommendations for individual student's academic and educational needs and abilities.
• Participate on a Student Success Team, identify students who may need targeted or intensive services, and coordinate with behavioural health specialists.
• Assist students/parents in understanding school policies and procedures.
• Provide brief counseling to address social and emotional concerns and appropriately refer students to behavioural health specialists.
• Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with behavioural health specialists on developing and implementing student supports.
• Support and attend appropriate student activities and events.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counselling or related field.
• Proven experience in academic counselling or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
