UI Test Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled UI Test Specialist to join our team. As a UI Test Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the user interface of software applications meets design specifications and provides a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test UI Functionality: Execute manual and automated tests to verify that the user interface functions as intended across web, mobile, and/or desktop applications.
  2. Validate Design Specifications: Ensure UI elements (e.g., buttons, menus, forms, layouts) adhere to design mockups, wireframes, and style guides.
  3. Cross-Browser/Device Testing: Test applications on various browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and devices (e.g., iOS, Android, tablets, desktops) to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
  4. Identify and Report Bugs: Log defects in bug-tracking tools with clear descriptions, steps to reproduce, and screenshots/videos.
  5. Usability Testing: Evaluate the user interface for ease of use, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  6. Automation: Develop and maintain automated UI test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or TestComplete.
  7. Collaborate with Teams: Work with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers to clarify requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  8. Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure new updates or features do not negatively impact existing UI functionality.
  9. Documentation: Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and reports to document testing processes and outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in UI testing, quality assurance, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in manual testing and familiarity with UI testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Postman for API-related UI testing).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other front-end technologies to understand UI behavior.
  • Experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Bugzilla).
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Understanding cross-browser and cross-device testing methodologies.
