Project Associate - Green Mobility Zone Implementation

Job Description:

As a Project Associate, you will play a crucial role in implementing road safety and green mobility initiatives in collaboration with government agencies and local stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and operationalize Low Emission Zones (LEZs) tailored for Mathura and Vrindavan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing LEZ frameworks for Mathura and Vrindavan.
  • Conducting baseline assessments of vehicular and industrial emissions in the city.
  • Identifying vehicle categories, emission thresholds, and compliance strategies for the LEZ.
  • Proposing monitoring mechanisms, including the use of Vahan data, ANPR, and on-ground enforcement.

Additionally, you will assess and recommend sustainable mobility solutions, including EV adoption pathways, public transport electrification, NMT integration, and multimodal connectivity.

You will also work closely with municipal corporation officials, UPPCB representatives, RTO staff, traffic police, and state EV cell personnel to ensure smooth implementation of the LEZ.

Furthermore, you will conduct consultations with local businesses, citizen groups, and transport operators to ensure that their needs and concerns are addressed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in environmental science, Urban Planning or Design and/or allied disciplines.
  • Proven experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues, preferably in air pollution control, EV policy integration, and urban design.
  • Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote location and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Responsiveness to stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, R).
  • Hindi and English fluency is a must.
