We're seeking an experienced training professional to join our Knowledge Experience team. This role is critical in developing instructionally-sound training programs for our engineering organization.

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching technical content and a proven track record of designing engaging classroom or online training programs. They'll work closely with our engineers and technical leaders to understand how software is designed, developed, tested, deployed, and monitored at LinkedIn.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Learning from our engineers and technical leaders to develop a deep understanding of our software development process
  • FOLLOWING instructional design best-practices to assess training needs and design effective training programs
  • Developing or maintaining classroom content and codebase used for educational purposes
  • Teaching one or more technical classes
  • Assessing the effectiveness of training programs through different levels of evaluation
  • Consulting and offering guidance to technical stakeholders on the most effective ways to train and transfer technical knowledge and skills
  • Enabling and motivating engineers at all levels and roles to share their knowledge and expertise
  • Managing the delivery of training programs created by yourself or others
  • Developing or maintaining tools that optimize training delivery and operations

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A BA/BS degree or related practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, teaching software development-related content, instructional design, or technical content writing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or MEd and 8+ years of relevant work experience, teaching and mentoring others in programming languages, software development tools, or other software engineering-related subjects
  • Experience developing software in Java, Python, or Javascript
  • Empathy and understanding for how software developers learn and acquire new skills
  • Experience in online training or video authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Storyline, Premiere, etc
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, etc
  • Ability to assess training needs based on data in order to propose training solutions of different delivery methods
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, SCORM, or xAPI
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, primarily focused in Software Engineering
  • Knowledge of different methods of evaluating training programs
  • Ability to be proactive and autonomous; able to work with minimal supervision

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
