The successful candidate will design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin and/or Java, collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, work with outside data sources and APIs, unit-test code for robustness, and ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.).
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in Android app development.
  • Proficient in Kotlin and Java.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
  • Experience with Android Jetpack components (LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation, Room, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Knowledge of design patterns such as Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM), Model-View-Presenter (MVP), or Clean Architecture.
  • Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
