Job Title: Sourcing Specialist

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for acquiring essential raw materials for production processes. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining quality and timely delivery of raw materials.

This position requires a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the raw materials market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement to Pay Management: Review Purchase Requisitions, float RFQ as per plan received from planning team, prepare comparative quote sheets, negotiate best prices and issue PO to L1 as per approval of AVP & VP Procurement, follow Procurement SOP, ensure timely delivery of material (OTIF), diligence in follow-ups with suppliers, ensure timely payments, vendor reconciliations etc.
  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and conditions.

Cost Management:

  • Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Inventory Management:

  • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in procurement, with focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the Pesticide industry is preferred.
