Database Expert Wanted

The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, upgrading, and migrating SQL Servers.

  • Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers.
  • Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server.
  • Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions.
  • Configure automated alerts to send mail to the team if there are any issues.

The selected candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them. They will also work on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.

The successful candidate should have hands-on experience with Always On and DB Mirroring. They will also execute all changes of db schema and maintain controlled development database environment.

They must be willing to work in 24X7 projects (Shifts) and have experience in scripting using Perl, Power Shell. Additionally, they should have knowledge of AWS/Azure.

Preferred qualifications include having any of the following certificates: SQL Server certifications, SQL Cloud based solutions and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers.
  • Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server.
  • Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions.
  • Configure automated alerts to send mail to the team if there are any issues.
  • Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them.
  • Work on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.
  • Execute all changes of db schema and maintain controlled development database environment.
  • Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production
  • Provide day to day support of high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases- Identify root causes of production problems and work with developers to resolve such problems.
