Job Description

The client is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Senior Network Support Engineer. This position involves providing top-notch technical support for network-related issues, working closely with product development teams, and collaborating with other members of Customer Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex network-related issues reported by customers.
  • Provide expert-level support on customer cases, including full accountability for escalation cases.
  • Investigate areas of misalignment or critical dead-ends and provide suggestions to mitigate them.
  • Identify trends in support requests and suggest corrective actions to prioritize resolution of specific high-touch issues.
  • Share ideas to enhance product UX and make the UI more intuitive.
  • Perform lab recreates in our internal lab setup as part of troubleshooting.
  • Support and mentor Tier 1 team members in complex troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Stay up-to-date on latest features and trending technology, participating in team communication, and keeping up with enterprise and networking trends.
  • Work closely with other members of Customer Engineering, Software, and Hardware development teams in diagnosing problems and communicating them in multiple technical contexts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the networking industry, products, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, OSI model, IP Addressing, ARP, DHCP, DNS, POE, ICMP, IPv4 & IPv6, IEEE 802.1Q trunking, Wireless LAN Fundamentals, VPN, NAT/PAT, etc.
  • Experience with troubleshooting utilities such as Ping, Traceroute, Wireshark (or similar packet capture and analysis tools).
  • Proven work experience in troubleshooting complex and dynamic customer environments.
  • Expertise in balancing communications needs of each customer case.
  • Strong analytical mind and ability to triage.
  • High aptitude for both learning and teaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate matters to customers.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and be adaptable to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in computer networking-related problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.

Education:

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/IT preferred but not mandatory.

Networking certifications are a plus.
