Import Executive Job Description

The Import Executive will be responsible for handling all aspects of import operations, including documentation, communication, and coordination with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and submission of export documents, such as export invoices and packing lists
  • Generation of insurance certificates and maintenance of insured amount balances
  • Handling hazardous cargo, including classification, packaging, and declaration
  • Coordinating with freight forwarders for flight and vessel bookings
  • Negotiating air or sea freight rates with forwarders, shipping lines, or CHA
  • Checking and approving shipping documents, including SB checklists, BOE checklists, AWB drafts, and BL drafts
  • Arranging transport for FCL shipments and factory stuffing
  • Applying for preferential and non-preferential COOs online
  • Maintaining accurate records for all export shipments, including EGM and RODTEP benefit status
  • Generating RODTEP scrips and completing other DGFT/ICEGATE applications
  • Arranging relevant packing for shipments, especially for dangerous goods
  • Ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, including HS codes, tariffs, and taxes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
