We are seeking an experienced Kafka Cluster Manager to join our team.

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and great communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale distributed systems with high availability, scalability, and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Kafka Cluster Administration
    • Install, configure, and manage multiple instances of Apache Kafka for various applications.
    • Implement and enforce data retention policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain the health and performance of Kafka clusters by monitoring metrics, logging, and alerting systems.
  • System Integration and Automation
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or GitOps.
    • Implement continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
    • Integrate Kafka clusters with other services such as Confluent Control Center, Connect, Schema Registry, and others.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with development teams to design and implement data pipelines that meet business requirements.
    • Provide training and support to internal teams on Kafka usage, best practices, and troubleshooting.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including configuration, deployment, and management.
    • Experience with Confluent Platform, including Confluent Control Center, Connect, and Schema Registry.
    • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, Windows Server, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Good to Have:
  • Experience with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Flink, or Hadoop.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and service mesh (Istio).
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK Stack) for log aggregation and analysis.
