As part of our project development team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing land acquisition activities for our wind projects.

Reporting directly to the Head of Project Development, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for project development activities and collaborating with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks.
  • Identifying suitable developers or aggregators for wind energy projects, with a primary focus on certain states.
  • Ensuring adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Assessing risks in land acquisition and recommending mitigation plans.
  • Leading legal due diligence and documentation with internal or external lawyers to ensure clear and marketable title of potential lands before acquisition.
  • Participating in drafting, finalization, and execution of Sale/Lease Deeds and other agreements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects.
  • Facilitating effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Handling interactions with local agencies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth acquisition and usage of lands for wind energy projects until commissioning.
  • Managing administrative tasks related to land acquisition and usage across our pan-India locations.
  • Developing project plans and schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful project implementation.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in land procurement or acquisition for wind and/or solar projects.
  • Significant experience in land acquisition involving revenue, private, or forest land, exploring potential site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports for acquisition, and negotiating to acquire land.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers or aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
