A 6 months contract opportunity is available with a leading technology firm. The role involves contributing to all aspects of software development, from architecture to design, estimation, development, testing and release.

Key responsibilities include developing, debugging and building automated tests for multiple programming assignments. Partnering with product owners, software architects and other software engineers to turn high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally is also essential.

The ideal candidate is a team-player with a result-focused passion to deliver an overall solution. They should be comfortable presenting demos of working software and addressing questions about progress.

To excel in this position, candidates must have 8+ years of production level Java development experience. They should have hands-on experience in Java development along with good problem-solving skills. Experience working on Spring/Spring-Boot Framework and AWS (or other cloud provider's) technologies such as SQS, DynamoDB, Kinesis/Kafka/Flink is also required.

Building scalable systems and services in the cloud, including calling other REST services from within a REST service, is a key responsibility. The ideal candidate should have experience using Terraform to build infrastructure as code and be skilled in using design patterns.

In addition to these skills, candidates must have experience working on multi-repo GIT code bases, REST-based web services, testing frameworks such as Blazemeter, shell scripts, automated CI/CD pipelines, SaaS applications at large scale and monitoring them.
