Key Responsibilities:

  • Splunk Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize Splunk infrastructure for efficient deployment and maintenance across various platforms.
  • Setup and Deployment: Worked on setting up Indexer, Search Head, Deployment Server, Heavy Forwarder, and Universal forwarder.
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting: Standardized Splunk Forwarder Deployments, configurations, and maintenance across UNIX and Windows platforms. Troubleshot Splunk server and Forwarder problems and issues.
  • Dashboards and Reporting: Designed and maintained production-quality Dashboards. Expertise in Actuate Reporting, Development, Deployment, Management, and Performance Tuning of Actuate Reports.
  • Capacity Planning and Optimization: Monitor the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization. Support Splunk on Linux and Windows-based platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Good to have certifications like Splunk Certified Power User and Splunk Certified Admin.
  • Required Skills: Exposure towards MongoDb/Docker services. Proficiency in Python and creating and running customized scripts. Worked on data analytics.
Responsibilities Overview

A Splunk Engineer is responsible for maintaining, deploying and optimizing a robust Splunk infrastructure. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and efficient problem-solving.

The engineer must be skilled in setting up, configuring and troubleshooting multiple Splunk components including Indexers, Search Heads, Deployment Servers, Heavy Forwarders and Universal forwarders.

  • Implement efficient Splunk configuration and management processes
  • Design, implement and maintain high-performing Splunk dashboards
  • Develop and deploy scalable data analytics solutions using Actuate reports
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Splunk servers and forwarders
  • Monitor and optimize Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and performance tuning
About this Role

This role requires excellent technical skills, particularly in Splunk configuration, deployment and administration. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and resolving complex technical issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with big data analytics tools such as MongoDB and Docker services. Additionally, proficiency in Python scripting and data analysis is highly valued.
