SAP HANA Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled professional with strong customer-centric skills, excellent communication, analytical thinking, a result-driven approach, and strong collaboration skills to drive our database operations forward.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP HANA Database architecture and the ability to manage installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning efficiently, ensuring high availability of systems and timely resolution of technical incidents.

  • Responsible for message processing, technical incident management, service/change request management, problem management, and root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Performing installation, patching, and upgrade activities to maintain database integrity and optimize system performance.
  • Overseeing performance monitoring, tuning, backup, restore, and recovery procedures to ensure seamless data recovery and minimal downtime.
  • Ensuring high availability of systems, including disaster recovery setup and implementation of business continuity plans.
  • Providing technical expertise to optimize system operations and architecture, leveraging in-depth knowledge of SAP HANA Database architecture and Linux operating systems.
  • Supporting concept and tool development to prevent issues and improve efficiency, collaborating with international teams to drive global knowledge transfer and documentation.
  • Conducting workshops and training sessions for customers and ensuring knowledge transfer within the team, fostering learning and growth among junior professionals.
  • Supervising juniors and trainees to develop their skills and expertise, planning, setting up, and implementing technical migration projects and process improvements.

Key Skills:

  • 3-9 years of experience in SAP HANA DBA with a proven track record of successful project delivery and technical expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA Database architecture and its various components.
  • In-depth knowledge of HANA backup and recovery concepts using traditional and Backint methods, as well as experience in DB restarts and troubleshooting issues in MDC/Non-MDC environments.
  • End-to-end installation of HANA 2.0 MDC, including client upgrades, add-on installations, and troubleshooting related issues.
  • Expertise in monitoring alerts from HANA Studio and taking necessary actions to prevent system downtime and optimize performance.
  • Applying HANA licenses using OS/Studio environments and managing audit logs and enabling/disabling different types of traces for performance analysis.
  • Performing end-to-end system health checks, executing backup recovery and point-in-time recovery for both MDC and Non-MDC systems, and handling HANA outages while meeting required SLA commitments.
  • Managing P1 and P2 incidents and ensuring timely resolution as per KPI requirements, with shift leadership experience an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including one week of night shifts per month, and participate in an on-call rotation when required.
