Develop strategies and work plans to bring solutions for origin and destination logistics for long-standing cargo in close coordination with all concerned functions and teams, along with top management guidance.

Implement process efficiencies and automation in the logistics function to make it system-driven.

Key Performance Areas

Manage all D&D cases across all businesses.

Record and register all D&D cases, develop a tracker for progress.

Develop fact sheets for every case based on necessary details, gathered from all sources.

Take necessary steps to obtain detention waivers from shipping lines.

Coach and develop concerned logistics team members handling cases in managing D&D cases.

Represent company interests to shipping lines and negotiate to secure maximum waivers possible.

Maintain up-to-date trackers of all cases and report resolution progress.

Take corrective actions in future shipments by providing revised SOPs and guidelines to avoid DND or cost impacts to the company.

Conduct regular meetings with concerned parties periodically to improve awareness and abilities internally to manage.

Prepare MIS reports on pending cases and update superiors at agreed frequencies (daily/weekly).

Tracking Longstanding Units:

Evaluate LA alignment and update in a timely manner to provide accurate positions and visibility of longstanding units.

Develop processes to track all longstanding cases (above 14 days) and ensure correct commodity booking under client names by logistics teams.

Escalate difficult situations or cases to senior management notice.

Building Strong Relationships with Shipping Lines:

Manage long-term relationships with shipping lines by taking required measures including networking.

Develop healthy relations with major shipping lines.

Ensure routine meetings with shipping line officials responsible for D&, maintain an updated and exhaustive contact list, and keep a central repository.

Lead corporate relations and brand image building programs for our organization, especially with shipping lines and related market players.

Automation Projects:

Identify areas in the logistics function to atomize for improved efficiencies, costs, and response times, enhancing overall team efficiency.

Lead atomization projects with IT teams or external service providers.

Rubber Logistics Function Management:

Provide functional leadership to the Rubber Logistics team at Jodhpur.

Periodically review logistics team functioning at Jodhpur.

Offer robust SOPs and checklists to ensure daily work is system-driven.

Assess and upgrade competencies and skills of logistics teams.

Track, manage, and resolve problems and issues.

Attend day-to-day logistics issues as per requirements.

Proactively suggest solutions to fix root causes of commonly/repeatedly occurring business issues.

Hold Rubber Logistics meetings weekly to discuss ongoing issues.

SOPs:

Provide detailed SOPs for key logistics processes and measurement.

Review SOPs periodically and revise based on problems and inefficiencies.

Conduct periodical audits to assess compliance levels in logistics teams.
