Job Title: Corporate Legal Advisor

We are seeking a seasoned corporate legal advisor to spearhead our business's commercial and corporate legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide authoritative counsel on contractual matters, regulatory compliance, and risk management strategies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, general terms and conditions, non-disclosure agreements, memoranda of understanding, and other contractual arrangements.
  • Develop or update contract templates and adapt existing templates to meet local requirements.
  • Liaise with insurance departments and external brokers for claims and queries.
  • Alert stakeholders to potential legal and regulatory risks, providing solutions to mitigate those risks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for compliance implementation, ensuring effective execution of Group compliance programs.
  • Assist in training business teams exposed to compliance risks.
  • Provide advice on compliance-related issues, supported by the Group Compliance team.
  • Manage disputes, pre-litigation, and litigation matters, including arbitration proceedings.
  • Develop effective strategies to resolve complex legal issues, protect company interests, and address commercial claims.
  • Liaise with external counsel for outsourced legal matters, ensuring cost-effective representation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law from a reputable institution.
  • Bar qualification in India or other Commonwealth countries is advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • Strong knowledge of laws (corporate and commercial) with experience in South Asia or other common law jurisdictions being beneficial.

  • High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a quick learner.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide proactive legal solutions and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Proficiency in translating complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
