Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Test Engineer to join our Market Management System engineering team.

Our team creates software used by electricity market operators to manage, optimize, and operate some of the world's largest transmission and distribution networks.

We are recognized leaders in solving complex business and engineering problems by delivering complete, sophisticated, scalable, and reliable systems.

The Opportunity:

  • Use business requirements, solution designs, and functional specifications to plan testing and data creation activities.
  • Design and develop functional and non-functional use cases and test cases.
  • Work closely with engineers to specify data collection and processing formats, volumes, and tools.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to obtain, prepare, process, validate, and complete testing data.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide data to support developer unit tests.
  • Implement reusable test automation, data, and function validation tools.
  • Execute functional and non-functional tests.
  • Track and correct data and test steps.
  • Provide testing progress and status reports.
  • Identify, track, and investigate issues found during testing.
  • Collaborate with developers to replicate, fix, and verify corrections.
  • Analyze test results and recommend improvements and corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • MTech or ME degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience participating in quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in software development using C, Java, Fortran, Python, and other scripting languages.
  • Experience in SQL language and MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres, and other relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience in data formats, Excel, CSV, XML, JSON, and data transformation and ETL tools.
  • Experience with JUnit, TestNG, DBUnit, FRUIT, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Linux, AIX, Windows, and other operating systems.
