Job Overview

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for developing strategic procurement plans to optimize the buying process. This involves leading a team of buyers to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and monitoring market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to drive efficiency and cost savings in the buying process.
  2. Overseeing the buying team to ensure that all aspects of the procurement process are executed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  3. Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  4. Maintaining relationships with vendors to support long-term partnerships and ensuring that their capabilities meet organizational needs.
  5. Evaluating supplier performance to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in apparel buying and product development.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (such as NIFT).
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent decision-making abilities to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to manage a team successfully and collaborate with internal departments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing strategies and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
