Linux System Administrator Role

**Job Description:**

We seek a seasoned Linux systems professional with 5+ years' experience managing Linux operating systems, including RedHat 6/7/8 and CentOS.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining Linux operating systems.
  • Performing general Unix/Linux administration tasks, such as building and configuring VMs, software package installation, account maintenance, file permissions, system tuning.
  • Developing and implementing shell scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting performance issues, managing system services, and hardening systems for security.
  • Participating in release management and patching processes.
  • Utilizing knowledge of TCP/IP networking in LAN/WAN environments to resolve connectivity issues.
  • Demonstrating strong communication, presentation, and time management skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Maintaining a customer-centric approach when handling incident response.
  • Cultivating expertise in VMware environments and cloud administration (AWS, Azure, Google).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with enterprise systems for monitoring.
  • Relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure.
