Job Summary:
This role is responsible for reviewing property damage from various perils, including wind, hail, and water, based on images and documentation received from vendors and insured parties. The primary responsibility is to accurately identify damage and create a detailed sketch of the damage, updating relevant tools and systems accordingly. This requires a good understanding of construction types and materials used in homes and surrounding dwellings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify damage types based on the peril type being worked, including wind, hail, and water.
- Review virtual images and documentation to create an outline of damage.
- Accurately identify the size and extent of damage for homes and dwellings, including materials damaged.
- Differentiate between various household structures, such as roofs, gutters, and walls, and materials from shared images and content.
- Conduct a detailed review of damage and capture relevant details using required tools and systems to aid in estimate creation for adjusters.
- May be required to review contents and bills related to damage.
- Ensure accuracy of pre-filled estimates to reduce rework for adjusters and increase straight-through processing.
- Return packages for additional information if data is insufficient.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role does not have direct supervisory duties.
- The pre-fill estimator may be required to connect with vendors to update or capture necessary information for damage assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
Functional Skills
- Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and regulations.
- Gaining knowledge of discipline practices, including best practices, to support the business unit.
- Gaining knowledge of different aspects of damage to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns.
- Eye for detail and accurate preparation of data to assess the value of estimates.
- Ability to appraise damage based on shared information.
- Investigate, evaluate, and identify requirements for claims based on peril type and damage details provided.
- Ability to utilize available tools to capture information to assist in scope of damages associated with losses.
- Live through a continuous improvement culture and leverage tools and technology to enhance personal performance and collective success of the organization.
