Senior Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned data engineer with expertise in cloud development to drive the modernization of our data platforms and design scalable data pipelines.

This role is critical to both the development of new data products and the enhancement of existing data architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Engineering & Architecture:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products.
  • Develop and optimize ELT/ETL processes using a variety of tools and technologies.
  • Support and evolve data models that drive operational and analytical workloads.
  • Modernize legacy systems and migrate workloads to cloud-native platforms.
  • Cloud Development & DevOps (AWS-Focused):
  • Build, deploy, and manage cloud-native data solutions using AWS services.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
  • Ensure scalability, resilience, and compliance of cloud-based data platforms.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with product managers, analysts, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to the data platform modernization roadmap and support new product delivery.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or equivalent technical role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Development & DevOps experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Deep experience with Oracle and proficiency in Python for data processing tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including networking, security, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with modern orchestration frameworks.
  • Exposure to data cataloging, governance, and quality tools.
