Web Application Security Specialist

The Firm is seeking a skilled Web Application Security specialist to expand its team and ensure the security of its web applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining web application security controls, including Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Bot Management, Content Validation and API Security.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with WAF platforms such as Akamai or equivalent.

The team works closely with global tech functions to onboard internet-facing web applications to WAF, review logs, implement tuning, web blocking, and mapping of IP addresses, FQDNs to services and applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing web behavior and performance to establish acceptable application thresholds
  • Performing policy tuning in accordance with performance baseline
  • Transitioning WAF from transparent to enforcement mode
  • Data cleansing and validation
  • Participating in proof of concepts for new security capabilities
  • Change management: preparing, documenting, implementing, and verifying changes
  • Incident and Problem management: conducting Root Cause Analysis, responding to incidents, and participating in postmortem analysis
  • On-call rotation

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and well-organized, with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with application owners, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required. Experience with ITIL processes and cloud-based platforms is an asset.
