The Azim Premji Foundation is seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our team in improving the health of underserved communities living in urban settlements of Bangalore.

We have an integrated community health program across 5 locations in Bangalore, with Health Centres and Community Health Workers managed by a local not-for-profit organisation.

  • The Health Centres provide primary health services to patients, targeting a cluster of urban settlements in their neighborhood.
  • The Community Health Workers support patients and the target community on health awareness and health education, community-level screening, follow-ups, etc.
  • The team collaborates with local public health systems to facilitate necessary services and benefits to the communities.

As a doctor, you will be on the front lines, working directly with communities to:

  • Handle medical operations, guide and mentor Community Health Workers.
  • Conduct health screenings, provide primary clinical services, and connect patients to secondary/tertiary hospitals.
  • Educate community members on health-seeking behavior, preventive health practices, nutrition, hygiene, etc.
  • Collaborate with local government and not-for-profit organisations to facilitate access to holistic health interventions.

This is challenging but fulfilling work, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • An unwavering commitment to serve communities and the resilience to work full-time (6 days a week, Mon-Sat) in an evolving environment.
  • MBBS degree, 3+ years' work experience, and KMC registration.
  • Fluency in speaking Kannada and Hindi language is preferred.

Work location: Bellandur / Peenya / Hebbal / Kengeri / Thubarahalli
