Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Data Scientist and Model Developer to work with various statistical and machine learning models, exploring new data features, generating metrics, and evaluating results. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in Python, including numpy, pandas, scipy, and scikit-learn, is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our codebase, adhering to object-oriented and functional programming best practices, writing unit tests, and collaborating with our subject matter experts to evaluate models and present results to stakeholders. Additionally, they will assist with building out and maintaining our AWS data pipeline.
As a team member, you will participate in all team meetings and ceremonies, provide input and feedback, and take ownership of identified improvements. You will also actively participate in learning and sharing activities, either during informal or formal training and demos, and demonstrate continuous technical improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in model development using Python for machine learning, statistical, and/or mechanistic models.
- Robust programming skills in Python, including numpy, pandas, scipy, and scikit-learn.
- Comfortable with Git version control, as well as BASH or command prompt.
- Comfortable discovering and driving new capabilities, solutions, modeling techniques, and modeling best practices from papers, text books, and other technical documentation.
- Able to communicate results using meaningful metrics and visualizations to managers and stakeholders and receive feedback.
- Fluent in English - speaking, reading, writing - Advanced Level.
