Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

At Talent500, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role is perfect for an experienced engineer with a passion for designing, integrating, and testing complex truck and van mounted equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design truck bodies and/or truck and van accessories from various materials using advanced engineering principles and techniques.
  • Create detailed drawings for manufacturing, ensuring precision and accuracy in every aspect.
  • Develop simplified drawings for customer review and approval, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Design electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics as required, considering safety, efficiency, and performance.
  • Resolve design, assembly, and manufacturing problems in a timely manner, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain operating manuals for our products, ensuring clarity and concision in documentation.
  • Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to deliver high-quality products that meet their needs and expectations.
  • Provide technical support to shop floor operations team, customers, distributors, and third-party repair shops, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Support field network of shops by providing troubleshooting information, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD packages, including AutoCAD experience.
  • Strong math, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize patterns and trends in large data sets.
  • Advanced project management skills, including strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal guidance.
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and a proactive approach to multitasking and prioritization.
