Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

The role of a Cybersecurity Specialist is crucial in safeguarding the security and integrity of released medical devices. This involves proactively monitoring and assessing potential cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents affecting released medical devices.
  • Lead investigations into post-market security incidents and coordinate response activities to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure the incorporation of robust security measures and patches.
  • Maintain and improve post-market surveillance processes to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Support regulatory submissions and audits related to cybersecurity compliance.
  • Participate in incident response planning and execution to minimize business disruption.
  • Foster relationships with external researchers and coordinate responsible disclosure processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least six years of general cybersecurity experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Three years of product security experience preferably in medical devices.
  • Three years of vulnerability management experience.
  • Three years of cybersecurity process development experience.
  • Experience in assessing and improving cybersecurity maturity using NIST CSF Implementation Tiers.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with IT, business partners, and internal/external auditors.
  • Master's degree in an Information Technology field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in evaluating and advancing organizational cybersecurity maturity aligned with NIST CSF Implementation Tiers.
  • Three years of medical device post-marketing experience.
  • Familiarity with global healthcare data privacy and security regulations.
