Job Overview

This position involves performing various engineering tasks under the guidance of a more experienced engineer. The role requires gathering and correlating data using established procedures, working on detailed engineering assignments, and proposing solutions to new problems encountered.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) system design and implementation, as well as proficiency in relevant electrical codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specific tasks related to broader engineering assignments
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and simple tests
  • Propose approach to solve new problems
  • Identify discrepancies in results
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines
  • Develop and maintain project documentation
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments
  • Perform load calculations and system sizing
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate design concepts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • Proficiency in ELV system design and implementation
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical system design
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and smart building technologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with BIM software
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient design principles
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Experience in designing integrated security and access control systems
  • Understanding of IT network infrastructure as it relates to ELV systems
