Mainframe Assembler Developer Role

Are you a skilled programmer looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Assembler Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications on the mainframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Applications: Utilize Mainframe Assembler, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2 to develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the mainframe.
  • Analyze and Document Legacy Code: Analyze complex legacy code to extract and document business rules, ensuring that existing systems continue to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Perform Impact Analysis and Coding: Conduct impact analysis, write efficient code, perform unit testing, and debug mainframe components to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Transaction and Messaging Tasks: Use CICS and MQ Series for transaction and messaging-related tasks, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Code Reviews and Troubleshooting: Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Development Experience: 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Mainframe Assembler and related technologies.
  • Mainframe Assembler Expertise: Strong experience required in Mainframe Assembler programming.
  • Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2 Skills: Very good hands-on experience in Cobol, JCL, VSAM, Db2, Mainframe Utilities.
  • CICS / MQ Series: Work experience in CICS / MQ series is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to independently analyze complex code and extract business rules.
  • Office Based Work: Willingness to work from office (ODC) without remote work options.
