Job Description

A Coding Specialist I is a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical coding data. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of medical coding processes and tools, as well as clinical trial processes including data management, clinical operations, and biometrics.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in clinical data management, with a strong background in quality management systems and clinical systems applications. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is also essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Data Coding: Execute clinical medical data coding tasks for assigned projects, including activities during study start-up, maintenance, and completion stages.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Coding team and Lead Data Reviewer to provide project-specific coding updates and implement solutions to coding-related issues.
  • Documentation Review: Review the Data Management Plan (DMP) and Study-Specific Dictionary Coding Conventions to ensure accuracy and alignment with coding standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Support the setup, maintenance, and closure of data management activities to ensure consistent, high-quality handling of coded clinical data.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • University or college degree in life sciences, health sciences, information technology, or a related field
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Solid understanding of medical coding processes and tools
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in clinical data management
