About Lady Andal House of Children

Lady Andal House of Children is an established special school in Chennai, founded by a renowned institution with a long-standing and respected legacy in education.

The school is dedicated to providing special education and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome.

We are building a dynamic team of rehabilitation professionals to work with learners with multiple disabilities and guide participants in the NIOS programme.

Who are we looking for

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team, specifically to work with students who have learning difficulties. This role is crucial in providing specialized therapeutic support to enhance the well-being and development of our pupils.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children with various needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans (ITPs) and therapy goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other health professionals.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group physiotherapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental level and physical needs.
  • Provide support for physical access and mobility within the school environment.
  • Monitor progress and outcomes using evidence-based tools and update care plans accordingly.
  • Support pupils with postural management programs, mobility aids, orthotics, and safe handling strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and school nurses.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc) and HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council).
  • At least 3 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Manual Handling and Safeguarding Children.
  • Knowledge of conditions affecting motor development and experience with specialist equipment.
