The Commercial Data team in Advertising is responsible for developing leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products. This squad sits within the Real Commercial tribe, the #1 place for commercial property and data in Australia.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Lead Engineer with 7-10 years' experience who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys being hands-on tackling technical challenges, and leads teams to deliver innovative solutions.

• Leading or significantly contributing to initiatives with strategic focus and value.
• Solving deep, complex technical problems in ways that enable other team members to learn and extend.
• Supporting the Engineering Manager/Tech Lead in setting the technical direction.
• Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team.
• Supporting and driving continuous improvement of our production systems and being an advocate for the overall health of our systems.
• Working with stakeholders to design high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our users, including vendor platforms.
• Writing, testing, and documenting code according to REA Engineering standards and practices.

• Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Data modeling.
• Experience with Data pipelines.
• Experience with Data consumption.
• Experience with Data analysis and documentation.
• Experience with Data warehousing.
• Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users.
• Advanced skills in developing long-term system architecture strategies.
• Experience with modern software development techniques (e.g., functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development, and CI/CD).
• Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
• Able to understand business, customer, and consumer needs to provide appropriate data solutions.
• Able to mentor other engineers in a collaborative agile team environment.
• Someone passionate about data and the latest data technologies.
• Good awareness of TDD, CI/CD approaches, and tools.
