About the Role

">

This team will work closely with our engineering teams based in the United States, Nigeria, and Kenya to strengthen existing product capabilities and build new product lines for our company.

You will collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to design and maintain multiple technologies, including our API backend, credit scoring and underwriting systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Building out APIs and backend systems for our frontend clients.
  • Integrating with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
  • Helping us build new financial products.
  • Scaling our backend services to ever-growing levels of traffic and complexity.

Requirements

">
  • Strong experience (3-8 years) of building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • Pragmatic approach combining strong understanding of technology and product needs to arrive at the best solution for a given problem.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, taking ownership of your own impact and proactively solving problems before they arise.
  • Excellent collaborator and communicator, recognizing startups as a team sport.
  • Excited by the prospect of working in a distributed team and company, collaborating with teammates from all over the world.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures that integrate disparate data sources.
  • Strong command on Data Modelling and Organization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with toolstack similar to dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python.
