Job Overview:

R. K. Dewan & Co., a renowned firm, is seeking highly skilled Patent Associates to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for confident and detail-oriented individuals with strong technical knowledge in Computer Science to manage various tasks and responsibilities effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patent and non-patent literature searches to identify prior art, freedom to operate, and other essential information.
  • Provide insightful analysis of search results by preparing and delivering timely patent search reports.
  • Draft high-quality provisional and complete specifications for patent applications.
  • Engage in Examination reports and Office Actions by presenting technical arguments and representing the firm at hearings (for registered patent agents).
  • Support the litigation team through research and analysis of recent cases during Patent Oppositions.

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Presentation and representation of the firm at IPR conferences in India and abroad.
  • Development and delivery of seminars, workshops, and orientation programs to promote IP awareness and create interest towards the firm.
  • Contributing to writing articles on behalf of the firm in various journals and magazines.
  • Active participation in internal knowledge/resource sharing sessions and contributing to the firm's newsletter.
  • Assistance in tracking and meeting deadlines set by Senior Management.
  • Utilization and updating data in the firm's IP Management System.

Group Leader Positions:

Client-facing positions that require reporting to Senior Management, while Individuals with lesser experience will report to Group Leaders in their respective technical fields.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in Computer Science with a good academic record.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPR or two years of experience in IPR.
  • Preference given to registered patent agents.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of IPR for the Patent Associate/Patent Analyst position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and required drawing packages.
  • Excellent command over the English language (written and verbal).
  • Candidates with excellent engineering domain knowledge and impeccable English language skills, but little/no patent knowledge, may also apply with an interest in making a career in IPR.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Candidates will be required to sign a contract for a minimum period of three years.
  • Salary and other terms shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Estimated salary: ₹30 lakhs per annum, considering the location and industry standards.
