About Our Special Education Program

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters growth and development for children and adults with diverse learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in speech and language therapy and be able to develop individualised therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals. The role involves providing one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, and expressive communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Planning: Assess student communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations, and develop Individualised Therapy Plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Speech Therapy Sessions: Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, and expressive communication.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with special education teachers, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support integrated student development, and educate and train staff on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Progress Monitoring and Record Keeping: Monitor and document student progress and adapt therapy plans as needed, and maintain accurate records and adhere to all regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Certification/Licensure: Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years' experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and Tamil required.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
  • Patient Skills: Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organisation: Good organisational and documentation skills.
