Overview

Microsoft is seeking a talented and experienced AI Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our AI Platform, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge AI products. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of Azure ML's state-of-the-art LLM modeling capabilities, enabling customers of AzureML to use GenAI.

Responsibilities

As a Senior AI Engineer in our team, you will:
  • Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to design sophisticated machine learning models.
  • Implement and fine-tune neural network architectures, including transformer-based models.
  • Optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate model performance, robustness, and generalization.
  • Explore novel techniques and approaches to enhance model capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP, deep learning, and AI research.
  • Work with large-scale datasets, preprocess them, and create appropriate data representations.
  • Select relevant features and ensure data quality for training and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, software engineers, and product managers.
  • Communicate technical findings and insights effectively.
  • Deploy trained models in production environments.
  • Monitor model performance, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on improvements.
  • As a tech lead, managing applied science projects, mentoring team members, and delivering results as a team.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced AI Engineer with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of statistics, linear algebra, and probability theory, as well as experience working with structured and unstructured datasets. Additionally, the candidate should have proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries, such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure and AWS, and distributed computing is also highly desirable. Finally, the candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
