About this role:
  • This position is responsible for leading the development of new neurostimulator system solutions and designing system design engineers.
  • The ideal candidate will be an influential functional manager working within a matrix organization to design and develop novel system features and full system solutions.
Main responsibilities:
  1. Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of system design, development, and validation of medical device systems and products.
  2. Knowledge of product development, clinical, and regulatory requirements is essential.
  3. Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies in partnership with other units.
  4. Lead a team in partnership with business for the development of new concepts from initial design to market release and sustain products already on the field.
  5. Maintain documentation throughout all phases of development.
  6. Coordinate activities across product teams within a system development to ensure timely delivery of the system for design characterization, verification, and validation testing.
  7. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function.
  8. Pose strong technical leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of engineers involved in the system SI&T process.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of systems verification and validation processes.
  10. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing technical insights and updates on systems verification and validation progress.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree required with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing a cross-functional engineering technical team size of 20 or more.
  • Provide a blend of people management and technical expertise.
  • Have a deep understanding of embedded and application SW development processes (Agile, waterfall methodology) and establishing metrics & recommended processes for the team.
  • Experience with validation of test methods, hard and software, test fixtures.

  • Knowledge of how to manage teams in a large organization, especially at multiple locations and remotely.
  • Great communication skills: Strong ability to coordinate people and teams around unstructured challenges and moving project priorities.
  • Knowledge of product development workflow.
  • Knowledge of medical device development process: 60601, 13485, 62304.
  • Ability to inspire a team and show vision.
  • Possess a passion for learning new things.
