Data Governance Specialist

Total Experience: 5 to 8 Years

  • Understand governance and adopter APIs, data lineage, and veracity.
  • Review object model, metadata for data sourcing and governance, creating integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with data partners for required governance insights and data catalogue requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on integration needs for project deliveries, scope, acceptance, installation, and deployment.
  • Design and develop pipelines and reports for analysis results using BI tools for internal governance team use.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and completion of project deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with application integration and issue root cause analysis and remediation processes.
  • Engage with teams for data uses and associated integration requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for understanding governance and adopter APIs, data lineage, and veracity. You will review object models, metadata for data sourcing and governance, creating integration patterns. Additionally, you will collaborate with data partners for required governance insights and data catalogue requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in application integration and integration patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, high attention to detail.
  • Candidate should troubleshoot problem areas and identify gaps and issues.
  • Ability to adapt to fast changing environments.
  • Familiarity with database modeling and schema design.
  • Experience understanding API integration processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Presentation skills in demonstrating system design and integration analysis solutions.
  • Familiar with agile project delivery process.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD API integration and data pipeline automation.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Professional full-stack development experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL for data access, discovery, and analysis.
  • ETL tool experience (Airflow).
  • Scripting language experience (Python, ReatJS, NodeJS).
  • CI/CD tool experience (Git, Jenkins, code build).
  • API mapping documents and specifications creation experience.
  • Cloud-based database technology experience (Vertica, Redshift, Postgres, etc.).
  • Data governance experience a plus.
