Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Maritime Talent Acquisitions Specialist to join our dynamic team and play a key role in attracting and recruiting top maritime talent.
The Ideal Candidate
As a Maritime Talent Acquisitions Specialist at Apollo Ship Management, you will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and attracting qualified maritime professionals to meet our clients' crew requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with a solid understanding of the maritime industry's unique demands and regulations.
You will work closely with internal teams and hiring managers to ensure the efficient and effective recruitment of qualified crew members.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the sourcing process for maritime personnel, including seafarers and officers, ensuring the right candidates are identified for each role.
• Utilize a variety of sourcing channels such as job boards, social media, professional networks, and direct outreach to attract top talent.
• Screen and assess resumes, conduct initial candidate interviews, and evaluate qualifications, skills, and certifications.
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand their staffing needs and ensure alignment with crew requirements.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates to meet current and future staffing demands.
• Build relationships with maritime schools, training centers, and industry networks to identify emerging talent.
• Ensure that candidates meet all necessary certifications, qualifications, and regulatory requirements (STCW, IMO, etc.).
• Assist in the onboarding process, including ensuring the required documentation is collected and crew members are ready for deployment.
• Track and manage sourcing activities through the applicant tracking system (ATS) and maintain accurate recruitment records.
• Prepare regular reports on sourcing activities, recruitment progress, and hiring metrics.
• Stay current with maritime recruitment trends, labor market conditions, and best practices in talent acquisition.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, recruitment, or talent acquisition within the maritime industry.
• Strong understanding of maritime crew management, regulations, and seafarer certifications (e.g., STCW, IMO).
• Proven experience using multiple sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, and networking.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in applicant tracking and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, results-driven approach to recruitment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
We also welcome applicants with experience in crew management or maritime recruitment agencies, knowledge of international maritime regulations and certifications, and fluency in multiple languages.
