Job Opportunity: Pastry Specialist

This is a role that requires meticulous preparation of pastry and dessert items according to set recipes.

  • Assigned to a designated workstation in the pastry galley to become familiar with various tasks.
  • Responsible for assisting in the production of pastry and dessert items.
  • Ensures proper display setup on buffets as needed.
  • Assists in transporting food items from main stores to the pastry galley.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in the working area and utensils, adhering to US Public Health regulations.
  • May be required to report early to the pastry galley for standby duty, as necessary.
  • Develops knowledge of ship operations, assists guests and crew members with inquiries, and stays informed about relevant policies and procedures.
  • Attends meetings, training sessions, courses, and other work-related activities as required.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook in a high-end hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service (preferably onboard).
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education requirement.
