Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team at M&G Global Services.

About the Role

This is a key position that will involve designing and delivering complex Azure infrastructure solutions ensuring security and governance best practices are followed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Owning DevOps Tools (including Azure DevOps) for the whole enterprise.
  • Designing and delivering complex Azure infrastructure solutions ensuring security and governance best practices are followed.
  • Embracing and adapting to the changing environment by developing applications or scripts in the language of choice.
  • Understanding the risk and controls around the applications running in cloud.
  • Following the software development lifecycle defined within the team.
  • Being able to appreciate truly Agile ways of working/development using tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Collaborating with peers across various levels for experiential learnings.
  • Focusing on Scalability, resilience, security, quality and continuous rigour to reduce technical debt.
  • Advancing the cloud community through sharing of best practice and mentoring others.
  • Creating and maintaining build and release pipelines across Azure DevOps projects in order to support infrastructure deployments.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Automation and DevOps at the heart of all work you tackle.
  • Proficiency in Azure Devops, YAML pipelines.
  • Able to automate the management and operational activities of Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in Integration of various Azure resources (IaaS and PaaS - SQL DB, App Service, Application Insights, Storage accounts etc) to deliver an end to end automation.
  • Thorough understanding of Continuous integration and continuous delivery using Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency and thorough understanding of Azure RBAC model.
  • Good grasp of Azure governance principles and hands-on experience in rolling out compliance and governance policies.
  • Proficiency in developing infrastructure automation scripts in the form of Terraform, ARM templates and Azure Power Shell scripts which can then be provided to application teams as consumables.

Additional Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good working and hands on knowledge of Azure IaaS, Vnet, Subnets, Firewalls and NSG. Sound understanding of networking knowledge on DNA and Firewall security like Palo Alto.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and build robust solutions and enjoy working with minimal supervision within an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment.
  • Experience in containerisation and worked on Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Basic knowledge around power platform and powerBI.

Salary Information:

The salary for this role is approximately £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
